Disabled Traveller

Click here to go to disability travel advice for more detailed information,

For the disabled traveller the key to a safe and comfortable trip is planning.

My mother was wheelchair bound and I know the importance and the difficulties of planning for any trips we took her on. Whether it is by car or other forms of transport it is interesting to see that not all places cater for the disabled.

Disabled persons have rights when travelling and you need to make sure you know your rights.

When travelling by air, airlines and airports are bound by legislation to provide services for people with disabilities.

It is important when planning a trip to communicate and consult with the the transport group you are travelling with, whether it is the airlines, airports, buses, trains or ships. By doing that you will help ensure you have an enjoyable holiday.

Currently we have travel tips for people who are blind, vision impaired and wheel chair bound. If you have any other disabilities that are not mentioned, the same advice would be relevant.

Follow our travel tips and I am sure you will have a stress free holiday.
