International travel checklist

International Travel Checklist lists all the things you need to think of before your trip.

They say that getting there is half the fun, but getting ready to get there can be stressful. To make your travel preparations a little easier, we have put together this checklist of things to pack and things to do before you leave.

Cross out items you will not need or add items, and then keep the international travel checklist by your suitcase to check off as you pack.

Things you need to organise BEFORE THE TRIP

Tick the box once you have organised it. Cross out anything that is not applicable to you. Add anything else you may think of.

Print off the International travel checklist first

[_] Make photocopies x 2 of all documentation (credit cards, licence, passport, visa, tickets, hotel invoice, insurance, vaccinations) keep one at home and one in your luggage.

[_] Contact Australian Govt and let them know where you are going and when. Also contact the Australian embassy within the country you are visiting.

[_] Apply for International drivers license

[_] Credit card/s (contact bank to let them know where you will be using them)

[_] Transportation (air/boat)reservations/tickets

[_] Give a contact number to neighbour, friend and family (mobile, hotel, embassy)

[_] Arrange for friend, family or neighbor to check calls on answering machine and clear them

[_] Toiletries (deodorant, talc, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, depilatories, razors, shaving cream, after shave, makeup, perfume, hair brush, comb, small hairspray, hair dryer)

Clothing

The clothing you pack will be dependent on the weather. Ensure clothing is comfortable and doesn't need to be ironed. You may want to add to the following on your list:

[_] 2 x long trousers

[_] 2 x shorts

[_] 2 x long sleeve tops

[_] 2 x short sleeved tops or singlets

[_] Light jacket (feather down are very lightweight)

[_] 2 x evening tops/dresses (female) shirts (male)

[_] 2 - 3 pairs socks

[_] Sandals and thongs for showers or beach

[_] Sneakers/comfortable walking shoes

[_] Shoes for going out

[_] Hats

[_] Underwear for every day away

[_] Spare underwear, etc, separate from luggage in case the luggage gets lost
